March 2019

Residential Permaculture Design Course
1-15 March 2019

A hands-on experiential course about sustainable living that makes sense and is fair for all, for the planet and all its people. A permaculture design approach is always ‘situational’, not a ‘one size fits all’ approach, not a ‘recipe’ approach, but designing for the specific situation or your personal life and community within the cultural, ecological and geographical context of Aotearoa, with the permaculture principles and ethics as the lens and ‘filter’.

15-17 March 2019

Join us for a weekend of bliss, restoration, nourishment and fun :-). A perfect opportunity to get away, spend time in connection to your body and self, deepen the yoga practice and connect with nature.

The intention is to stretch, open and restore the body even deeper than we get chance during our daily practice in the studio. We spend so much of our lives rushing and being busy in our minds and days. This weekend will be a perfect opportunity to just reverse the busyness, to slow down, be still and quiet so you can go back to your life with more vigour, more energy and contentment.

Into your own unfolding
Friday 22 – Sunday 24 March 2019

The retreat opens and builds with the metaphor of a braided river, our lives consisting of many strands, both internal and external. These strands unfold and intertwine, some carry us forward, some hold us back, others sustain and support.
This retreat will hold you in quiet waters, so you can reflect on what supports and sustains you as your river continues to carry you into your own unfolding.

Mindfulness Meditation Retreat with Kelsang Shechog
29 – 31 March, 2019

In the fast pace of our work and personal lives, our attention is easily scattered and our mind cluttered with endless distractions. Training in mindfulness gives us the power to overcome disturbing thoughts and to stay focused on what brings peace of mind. This retreat is suitable for everyone, and provides an excellent introduction to meditation as well as an opportunity to improve our meditation skills. Taught by Buddhist nun Kelsang Shechog, the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington, this retreat offers a unique opportunity to experience stillness within the tranquil setting of Otaki Gorge and the Waihōanga River Lodge and Retreat.

The course begins with supper at 6.30pm on the Friday night and finishes with lunch on Sunday. There are plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind in the beautiful gardens and various nature walks in the forest. This retreat is catered with delicious vegetarian food, and there is a range of accommodation options. All you need to do is to relax and enjoy yourself.
