Waihōanga has a well-equipped kitchen that’s perfect for self-catering.
There are also a number of fantastic caterers in the area who have extensive experience creating delicious food for a wide range of dietary needs and group preferences. While we are happy to make some initial suggestions, it is our guests’ responsibility to organise and book their food and catering. Below are some catering ideas that we hope you find helpful:
Jules Barber is passionate about healthy living and putting ‘life on the plate’ with nourishing meals. She offers healthy options ranging from simple vegetarian to all organic and raw. Her food is delicious, creative, free of refined sugar, additives, colourings & preservatives and her salads are out of this world! She’s happy to create menus to suit you, be they vegan, vegetarian, gluten/dairy/wheat free or simply great wholesome food.

Katie Mac specialises in plant-based, whole-food cuisine. As a nutritional therapy practitioner, she places huge emphasis on providing nutrient-dense & nourishing food. All her food is gluten free, refined sugar free, vegan & organic where possible. She especially loves catering for yoga & wellness retreats, or any group who loves the idea of eating healthily!
Doris Zuur specialises in wholesome homemade cooking, using as many seasonal, local and organic ingredients as possible – plus love and care! She personalises her service around practical circumstances and can cater to all dietary needs and special requests. Doris has been catering at Waihōanga for many years – and her cooking style complements the values and environment.

Jenna Joan creates wholesome, nourishing food from plants, with love. All meals are designed with the ethos that food is medicine…but so is pleasure; the perfect balance of health AND flavour. All food created by Jenna is completely free of animal products and is mostly (can be entirely) gluten free. Meals are nutritionally balanced to ensure guests are never hungry or lacking in energy. Jenna loves to get to know you and the intention/theme of your event so she can create a menu specifically for you and your guests.
There are a number of local businesses who can drop-off pre-prepared meals, create side dishes, salads and grazing tables... or create a fabulous feast for one special day.
From Our Kitchen is a Kapiti catering company whose passion is to create quality food using mostly organic, unprocessed produce. They can deliver meals to Waihōanga.

Antonios is a delicious local Italian restaurant that is happy to deliver to Waihōanga and tailor-make a menu for you and your group's needs

Special event catering and food trucks
Dutchys Burger Joint are makers of gourmet burgers and handcut chips, catering events large and small all over the show. They offer locally sourced fresh ingredients, handmade sauces, free range meat, locally caught fish, organic salad greens and fresh buns from the baker.
Zaafran are a local food truck and catering business who provide delicious street food, with authentic Moroccan flavours, made with the finest produce they can find.
Elemental Eats, creators of the unique Kumara Pie, are a mobile food truck providing healthy real food options.
Funk with Food will turn up at Waihōanga complete with smokers and barbeques and wow you with the feasts they create. A fantastic option for that special evening feast.
Willow Platters create beautiful and delicious grazing tables and platters and can also provide serving/support staff for your special event.
